Carat I is a gated residential community in Álora, a traditional town perched in the hills north of the Costa del Sol. The complex offers apartments within a secure setting, combining privacy with access to the wider Guadalhorce Valley.
Álora sits inland from the coast, surrounded by olive groves and dramatic limestone peaks, and appeals to buyers seeking a quieter, rural character while remaining within reach of Málaga city and the beaches. The gated design provides controlled access and a sense of seclusion. Community details are limited, but the location itself defines the lifestyle. Álora is a working Andalusian town with whitewashed streets, a Moorish castle, and local markets. The surrounding countryside draws walkers and cyclists, and the Caminito del Rey gorge walk lies a short drive away. The climate is warm year-round, though summers here run hotter than on the immediate coast. Carat I suits buyers who value authenticity over resort amenities. It appeals to couples or retirees looking for a Spanish base with lower running costs than beachfront developments, and to those who prioritise natural surroundings and ease of access to Málaga airport. The setting works well for year-round living or extended seasonal stays, particularly for anyone drawn to Andalusian culture and outdoor pursuits in a less tourist-focused environment.

FAQ
Yes. Carat I in Higueron is gated with controlled access. There is on-site security as part of the community, so entry is managed rather than open. This gives residents a degree of privacy and peace of mind, which suits both full-time living and homes left empty for parts of the year.
Residents share a pool, a gym, a spa and landscaped gardens, along with security across the community. These are communal, so upkeep is handled collectively rather than falling on each owner. It means you get access to a gym and spa without maintaining them yourself, in exchange for a share of the running costs.
Yes. Carat I has a communal pool set within gardens, both maintained by the community. The green areas give the setting an open feel and space to sit outside. As with any shared pool, it is used by all residents rather than being private to one home.
It works for a range of buyers on the Costa del Sol. The gated setup and shared facilities suit couples, families and anyone wanting a lock up and leave home. The on-site gym and spa also support year-round living, since the amenities are there whether you visit for a season or stay all year.
